Players

  • Never use foul or abusive language or behave badly or aggressively towards other players, officials or anyone else.

  • Never argue with the referee, manager or other match officials.

  • Accept manager’s decisions.

  • Respect your opponents, acknowledging them at the end of your game, whatever the result may be.

  • Play for fun, respect your teammates and accept others limitations.

Parents / Guardians

  • Never use foul or abusive language or behave badly or violently towards your team players, opponents, officials or anyone else.

  • Support, encourage and praise players regardless of their ability.

  • Show respect towards opponents, referees, managers and match officials.

  • Discuss team matters in private.

  • No alcohol or drugs whilst in attendance of the game.

  • Do not put undue pressure on players and always encourage.

  • As parents, you must be aware that you would be expected to volunteer or have agreed another family member or friend to volunteer for café duty once per season.

  • As parents you will instruct all and any other adult/s accompanying your child to uphold these Code of Conduct rules and understand that you are held responsible if they break them.

Failure to do so may result in your child’s exclusion from the league season or future seasons.

Managers and Assistants

  • Never argue with the referee, other team managers or officials.

  • Ensure all players play within the laws and rules of the game and all players acknowledge their opponents at the end of each game, whatever the result may be.

  • Be impartial in decision-making and support, encourage and praise players whilst taking a balanced view when making substitutions, taking into account players circumstances and abilities. (Please remember, every player in your team is entitled to half a game, regardless of his or her ability).

  • Do not enter a changing room or confined area without another adult present. (If managing a girls’ team at least one of the adults present must be female).

  • Follow and comply with FA Rules and the Managers Guide to MLL Rules and notify the League Secretary if you feel that other managers and officials are not upholding this.

  • Accept that football is fun and do not attempt to win at all costs and always set a good example.

Complaints Procedure

The league cannot and will not review the decisions of match officials once it’s over.

If you have a complaint it is best not to verbally abuse the manager or other league officials during a stressful Saturday morning. A public argument would not be constructive, when all involved may be agitated.

In the event that any Morden Little League member feels that he or she has suffered in any way, or that the Club Policies, Rules or Code of Conduct have been broken they should follow the procedure below:

Submit a report to the Liaison Officer (liaisonofficer@mordenlittleleague.com) in writing within 7 days of the incident.

The report should include:

  • Details of what/when/where the occurrence took place.

  • Any witness statements and names.

  • A preference for a solution to the incident.

The Club’s Management Committee will acknowledge receipt of your complaint within 10 days and after investigation, will provide a written response within 21 days.

The League Management Committee reserve the right to consider penalties up to and including permanent exclusion (adult/s and children) for failing to accept and follow the League’s code of conduct. This may include any other siblings also playing within the league either in the same section or any other section.
